Meet the Team
Kim, Jody, Cally
Kim, Dental Hygienist
A true Arizona native, Kim decided to pursue a career in dental hygiene with a simple goal. She was in search of a rewarding and challenging career that would also allow for a healthy balance between career and family. She set out on this path with prerequisite studies in1994. She was pleasantly surprised to be accepted into Rio Salado’s Dental Hygiene program on her first application. Kim graduated with high distinction in 2000.
For the last ten years, Kim has found great satisfaction in working with the doctors and patients at Desert Vista Dental. She is motivated by seeing her patients improve their overall dental health, and maintaining good oral hygiene through consistent, long-term care and instruction. She strives to develop a good rapport with her patients over time, and feels she and her patients can work as a team by understanding the relationship between overall oral health and education.
Kim has enjoyed learning about the latest technology in periodontal therapy. One example is the diode laser used for laser-assisted periodontal therapy. She also finds fulfillment in participating in community oral health settings, such as the Arizona Coalition for Tomorrow (ACT) Health Fair, which provides dental care and instruction to children in need.
Outside of work, Kim enjoys spending time with her family, including husband Mike and daughters Lauren and Morgan. Some of the family activities she enjoys are snow skiing, and recently started running with her family, which she finds very rewarding. Kim also enjoys dedicating her time to serving in her church community.
Jody, Dental Hygienist
Growing up in Idaho in a family of six girls, Jody relocated to Oklahoma City, where she married and raised her three beautiful children, two girls and one boy. Having worked most of her life in the dental business in one capacity or another, she found herself returning to Idaho to go to school to become a dental hygienist – a choice she considers one of the best decisions of her life. She truly loves what she does, especially being part of the group of professionals at Desert Vista Dental. She loves her work, loves her children, and adores her three granddaughters. She is looking forward to the opportunity to serve all your healthcare needs.
Cally, Dental Hygienist
Cally Baxley moved to Arizona in 1997 from her hometown of Sturgis, South Dakota. She graduated with highest honors in 2006 from Phoenix College with an AAS in dental hygiene, and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She has worked at Desert Vista North as a full-time hygienist for the last two years. Prior to becoming a hygienist, she worked as a dental assistant for eight years which is what sparked her interest in pursuing a degree in dental hygiene. In 2006-2007, she sat as a delegate for the Central Arizona Dental Hygienists’ Society (CADHS).
Cally is married to Don, her husband of 13 years. They have a son Jake and daughter Katelyn, as well as their most cherished family pet, Suzy, a chocolate lab. In her free time, she enjoys reading books, many outdoor activities, and camping and fishing with family and friends. Among the many things Cally enjoys about her job, working one-on-one with the community tops the list.
